Cooper Software and IFS Support Virtual Scottish Whisky Awards

Cooper Software are delighted to be taking part in The Scottish Whisky Awards, co- sponsoring two prestigious awards alongside leading ERP software platform, IFS. The two awards are within the highly competitive ‘taste’ category, specifically the 12 year old single malts and the 13 – 16 year old single malts.

The decision to sponsor the awards coincides with Cooper Software working closely with IFS, to develop and implement a single overarching, fully integrated solution that delivers greater operational efficiency to companies within the whisky industry.

Now in its second year, the Scottish Whisky Awards aim to recognise and reward the people and teams who work to deliver Scotland’s greatest global product. The independent competition is judged by a panel of experts drawn from across the sector, bringing together industry experience and market knowledge to recognise the greatest achievements in the production of Scotch Whisky.  Current COVID-19 restrictions have meant the event will be held virtually this year, broadcast live on Thursday 19th November from the Glasgow DoubleTree by Hilton ballroom.  

9 separate awards will be presented within the taste category, with the top three performers in each category awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Awards will also be presented across 8 business categories to highlight the world leading and innovative performance of Scotland’s whisky distillers in a range of initiatives covering marketing, tourism and innovative business practices.

33 companies entered their whiskies in to the competition, with 128 whiskies progressing to the finals. The awards cover both taste and business performance and were judged following a blind taste test by a highly experienced judging panel comprising some of the world’s foremost experts in Scotch.

The Scottish Whisky Award winners will be announced during a live digital broadcast of the ticketed-only event on Thursday 19th November at 6.30pm.
