Cooper Software has played a pivotal role in helping Turner Property Services, (TPS), deliver vital maintenance services for thousands of homes across Scotland, thanks to a solution called TRAX.
Turner Property Services, part of the £160million Turner Group, recently won a major maintenance contract with Hanover Housing Association that hinged upon integrating two disparate systems in real time – linking Hanover’s operations system, called Capita, with TPS’s ERP system. To make this possible, TPS turned to Fife-based ERP specialists, Cooper Software.
Cooper Software offers a proprietary product called TRAX – data-interface software which is tailor-made for this kind of challenge; seamlessly connecting different systems.
By deploying TRAX, when Hanover created a service request (like replacing a resident’s door), it would feed through to the maintenance team at TPS, directly and automatically. Then, at each stage of TPS’s work (ordering the door, booking a joiner, etc.) their system would update Hanover’s. This not only saved countless manual inputs, but also automated messages, for example updates to the resident.
Cooper Software ensured that TRAX was in place within a tight timescale. “We were awarded the contract with just weeks to put a solution in place” said Graeme Rogerson, Business Improvement Manager at TPS. “The Cooper Software team were invaluable in developing the solution. For something that I’m sure is very technical, they made it very easy for all parties to understand, which is a skill in itself!”
To say the project was a success would be an understatement. On one hand, the solution reduced manual processes and the opportunity for error, making significant savings of both time and money. On the other, the solution paved the way for a series of further business wins for TPS, proving critical in securing three more housing association contracts.
For TPS, TRAX has streamlined operational processes and helped them to grow their client base. For Hanover, it’s helped them better meet their residents’ needs. And, for thousands of residents across Scotland, it means a more efficient and open maintenance service.
As Frank Cooper, Executive Chairman of Cooper Software, says, “We’re delighted to have worked on a solution with such a clear and worthwhile impact. TRAX – together with some expert ERP configuration – has delivered a transformative solution for Turners Property Services, and for the housing associations they work with. We believe it’s going to save millions of pounds in the long term, as well as playing a crucial role in maintaining people’s homes.”
